The precise and minimalistic design of ALBA is inspired by historical porcelain door handles. The round section is the unifying motif of the handle, with the slightly oversized porcelain lever as an aesthetical sign in favour of ergonomics. The interpretation of the archetype through a contemporary lens and the wide range of finishes allow a perfectly adequate usage in many buildings and environments with a modern, refined style. "My aim was to underline the interaction of the two materials as if they were cast from one mould," says the author, Dutch-German designer Kai Linke.
