The shape of the handle created by Frankfurt architect Professor Christoph Mäckler was especially popular in the 19th century and was modelled on its “younger brother”, the Christoph Mäckler handle 1135. Today the traditional handle shape in various classic metal finishes is suited for modern requirements for heavy-duty and fire-safety doors, and a slightly modified version of the model suited to EN 179 standard for emergency exit door fittings.
